March 15, 2005Amsterdam Diary IIPosted 5 years, 11 months ago on March 15, 2005 Went to the Red District today because my co-worker finally came to assist with stress testing. Jesse said I'm not allowed to go without a trusted escort. My co-worker apparently qualified as a trusted escort.Anyways, now that I know what a red district look like, I suddenly notice 4 red lighted display windows as I peer out of my hotel window ... there are girls there! I've never noticed that before! Where they there yesterday and perhaps the day before? Anyways, the hotel is about 20 minutes walk from the red light district but since such things are legal in Amsterdam, I don't see why such sensual display is limitted only to the red light district. I've also tried to do exchange to euros with my Canadian cash at the small money changer office that advertise 1.28 exchange rate -- turned out that it is a false advertisement. It is actually around 1.78! :P Guess the best exchange rate is credit cards & ATM. If you think I'm going to avoid talking about food today ... well, you're wrong! Tonight, my co-workers and I enjoyed some tapas from a Spanish type restaurant. The food was great! The best is the dessert -- we ordered pineapples soaked with kirsh (don't know if I spelled it right. It's a very expensive brandy, apparently). Quite yummy! No comments, be the first! |
